Swap the clothes you never wear.
No listing wars, no lowball offers, no meeting a stranger in a car park. Drop it at a locker, collect something you will actually wear.
What swaps well
Women's clothing up to $1,000 an item. Brand, size and condition go on the listing, so your match knows exactly what they are getting.
The one-wear dress
Bought for a wedding, worn once, now taking up space. Someone else has an event coming up.
Sizing that changed
Pieces you liked but no longer fit. Nothing wrong with them, they are just not yours any more.
The impulse buy
The colour looked different online. It happens. Swapping costs you nothing but the listing.
Replaced activewear
You upgraded and the old set still has years in it. Someone is about to buy that exact thing new.
Where the locker is
One locker so far, at Carrara Markets on the Gold Coast. It is open Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 3pm, with the markets.
Worth being straight about this: Carrara is about an hour from Brisbane. If you are coming from the city it is a trip, not a detour. More locations open as the network grows, and joining the waitlist is how you hear about the one nearest you.
How a swap works
You list an item and say what you are after. Your agent finds a match, sometimes directly and sometimes across several people at once, so you are not waiting for one person who happens to want exactly what you have.
Both sides put down a refundable bond. You drop your item in one compartment and collect yours from another, so nobody meets. You check it there at the locker, and you have 24 hours to raise anything that is not as described.
A completed swap is a flat $5. The full process is here, and here is how it compares to selling.
Start with one thing
Pick the piece you keep moving along the rail without wearing. Listing takes about 30 seconds.
